Neighborhood Security Reminder

Recently we met a young man in our neighborhood who, although dressed nicely, was going door-to-door asking "odd" questions. This prompts a reminder from the King County Sheriff's Department. Per Detective Stephen Soule: "Whenever you have a suspicious person at your house you need to call our 911 center. You can call 911 if this is a serious issue or you can call the secondary non-emergency line which is 206-296-3311. We have a directed patrol mission to document all contacts with these salespeople. I should be notified after you have done this. The county has a code to deal with solicitors. You need to post your property with No Trespassing & No Solicitors signs and then if they still come to your door we can issue them a monetary fine."

Remember, vigiliance is the best protection. Don't hesitate to contact the Sheriff's Department if you see suspicious people or activity. Also, we will be posting "No Trespassing" and "No Solicitors" signs in our yard.
